Am amazed at the fact that Barack Obama is able to churn out millions of supporters on the World WIde Web. Are there more number of Internet Savvy democrats in this country? or, is it just the Obama magic? Whatever be the reason, you can see the Internet Cloud clogged up with “We love Obama” sign boards. His You-Tube channel is very popular and some videos have had more than a million users staring at them. The best part is, Most of these users are outside of the United States. If United States is an independent company and Barack Obama is a Product/Brand, It would be the most Loved, popular and profitable companies in the world, Just because Barack Obama sells like hot cup cakes!!, not only in the US of A but also globally.
Coming back to the Obamaites on the internet, they are everywhere and as election day is coming closer, they run from Pillar to (blog)post singing his glory and seeking support. However, the point to be noted here is that people do this by choice as they yearn for the change. But why do people beleive in Obama? The reason? No prizes for guessing, His charisma and his ability to empathize and relate to people from all communities.

What you didn’t know, could kill your computer!! The internet is a haven for people with malicious intent. They spam, spoof, hack, phish and will do anything to get their hands on your personal and financial information. How do you stop it? 3. Never-ever download an attachment from an email that comes from an unknown person. Even if the email is from your friend or relative, you can scan it with your Antivirus program.
4. Scan your computer on a regular basis. At least once a week. Most antivirus programs can schedule a scan to run automatically. Update your virus definitions and run windows updates on a regular basis.
5. Install a Popup blocker and do not click on popups while your are on the internet, always ‘X’ out of them.

India’s first moon mission
India’s maiden mission to the moon Chandrayaan -1, blasted off from earth today morning from the Satish Dhawan Space centre in Sriharikota off Andhra Pradesh coast. Chandrayaan means “Moon Craft” in ancient Sanskrit. It blasted off at 6.20 am on the modified Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV). Chandrayaan will go to the moon and orbit it for the next two years. Chandrayaan will join Japan and China’s spacecrafts to map the surface of the moon for laying the groundwork for future Indian space missions. Let us wish India all the best on their first ever voyage to the moon.

UK govt. releases UFO file
The U.K government is all set to play James Bond and X-files by releasing the reports made by various people claiming UFO sighting. They have over 4500 records including many UFO sightings and crop circles. Although most of the sightings can be dismissed as fake and stereotyped, there are a few that are quite interesting. For example, the sighting made by two Italian pilots was clarified by the Defense dept. that there was no other flying object or missile in that region and what the pilots saw has been categorized as an Unidentified Flying Object. Another interesting claim is from two army officers in 1985, Androver. They have proof of what appears like crop circles. The twist to the tale comes 5 years later when in 1990 two young men confess that they were playing a prank and made the crop circles with a garden roller and planks of wood. So much for that UFO story!!
Whether you believe in UFO or not, given the hype surrounding it, it definitely seems like a worthy news to follow.
Stand-up comedians profit from election fever
Wherever there is news, there is a stand-up comedian waiting to capitalize. Stand-up comedy has gained lot of popularity since the birth of web2.0 as more people are able to view, appreciate and respond to healthy comedy. Political jokes, criticism, celebrity trashing are all very popular genres of stand-up comedy. But the one that really sells right now are election and election related jokes. Barack Obama, John McCain, Sarah Palin and anybody else who is feebly related to the elections have become the main targets of stand-up comedians.
One time when David Letterman played a top 10 George Bush moments video on his show, Bush reacted saying, “Any society where people can make humor if their leaders and criticize them is a free society worth builiding.” Although stand-up comedy is good and people enjoy it, popular stand-up comedians need to act more responsibly during the election time as they can adversely impact people’s judgement through their comedy. This is evident from the number of people who after seeing a stand-up comedy show got influenced into thinking that Sarah Palin is a big farce. Although i personally beleive that she is a big farce, thats for people to decide on their own, not for stand-up comedians to cue in!!
TN and LTTE - Whats the Cartel Connection?
The affinity expressed by the Tamil Dravidian leaders for the LTTE and their chief supremo, Prabakaran, seems uncanny! Is this a case of flagrant insolence towards the country where the regional or vernacular relevance supersedes the greater national interest? Tamil Dravidian leaders have always been known to have a penchant for the Leberation Tamils in Sri Lanka. With the center dancing to the tunes of the big old man of Tamil Nadu, would it be possible that by some crude rationale, that the worldly renowned terrorist clan is given a clean chit, if not a slight nudge in its operations? With the LTTE having assasinated Rajiv Gandhi, and the Congress party in essence leaning on the legacy of the Gandhi family to attract vote banks, does the center not seem a bit surreptetiously intimidated by the K of TN? Lets sit back and watch the phoney show until we all await the bubble to burst!

Airtel’s Social Irresponsibility: Digging its own grave!!
I thought the nation was preparing for war and that bunkers were being built below the city! Come rainy season and Chennai is filled up with lot of activities. Although the so-called rainy season is only for a short duration of about a month or so, Chennai becomes a hub of infinite unintelligible tasks taken up by various organizations. BCCI schedules its cricket matches in Chennai during these months, Corporation of Chennai and BSNL find numerous reasons to dig the roads, trying to fix the drainage and telephone system and even more reasons to not close them during this auspicious digging season. Adding to the woes of the residents of the city, Airtel has also come up with its own digging scheme for laying underground cables. They decided to uphold the city’s time valued tradition and are digging up the entire city roads during the worst ever season of the year. If digging is evil, what will you call their lethargy in cleaning up this mess? Once dug up, the roads are never restored at least for a week and is kept on display for everyone to see what a great job Airtel is doing in digging roads, they are so good at everything!! Is this some kind of a marketing technique? “Lets dig up all the roads, maybe they’ll sit at home, get bored of TV and start talking over the phone.” To do something like this at this time of the year, they must either be super greedy or plain stupid!!
My personal feelings on this matter is that if a company can so easily dig up our lives and get away with it, is it even worth doing business with? After being a loyal customer of Airtel for a long time, i decided to move away and change operator. Although that was a bit of an inconvenience, i could sleep well, knowing the fact that i did not put more money in to a greedy and stupid company’s pocket.
India’s moon mission to see dawn
India’s moon mission - Chandrayaan (Moon Vehicle) - is all set to blast off from the Satish Dhawan Space Center at Sriharikota on October 22, 2008. This newest space odyssey will put India in the elite league of nations who have carried out successful mission aimed at exploring the moon.
The unmanned mission would be India’s first exploration and planetary science mission. The spacecraft would take about 5 days to reach the moon and will be in a 100 kilometer polar orbit around it. The goals of this prestigious mission are to come up with a 3D map of the moon and to conduct chemical research regarding the concentration of different metals, materials and high atomic number elements on the surface of the moon.
