Coversion to Christianity in India

Let alone a pastor, even the Pope could not turn blind eyes to such a golden opportunity to add a soul to his kitty. The incident I’m referring to is the following. When the late Kanchi acharya was approached by a Christian who confessed his interest in shifting to the faith of Hinduism, the Centurion was believed to have said that it would not be necessary and that there was enough good in his present revered path to reach God. Granted that India and Hinduism (that accounts for a majority of its population) are built on the foundations of supreme and paramount religious tolerance, their exploitation by missionaries in uncalled for.

When Hinduism claims of showing just one path towards eternity and seeks mutual acceptance of all faiths, the philistine and frivolous views exhibited by Christians, only reveals the intellect of a sheep as is claimed :P. When Islam prohibits the preaching of other religions in its holiest of places, we have missionaries preaching at Tirupathi! I am not praising their audacity but condemning their insolence towards Hindu religious sentiments. Not to mention our benevolent and immaculate politicians who would vouch for the cause of the minority vote banks - The Bank that never fails!

It is claimed that people willfully get converted to Christianity realizing the true path towards God. However its astounding that hundreds of people are so enlightened at the same point in time, to succumb themselves to the only true faith on the face of the earth. Sure is a work of God! I also find it uncanny that its only the people in the lower rungs of society, the poor and the impoverished who get this internal illumination all of a sudden in their life. It not only dawns upon the beggarly man but also his wife and kids who could not pronounce cat! It is unlawful to convert people into other faith by way of allurement, money or other perquisites.

Speaking of it, one should tune in to the Pope’s channel to listen to the pearls of wisdom shed on the banes of conversion. The biggest problem to him in the coming era is the conversion of people to Islam in Europe! When one’s cattle could happily graze the pastures of the neighbor, its noxious when the favor is curtly returned. How Just! With this, I rest my case. Amen.
